Born from mountain pastures
Chocolate made with 100% hay milk
The Swiss family-run business Confiserie Sprüngli is launching its first ever chocolate made from pure hay milk. The chocolate consists of 100% natural, high-quality, mountain hay milk that is produced by cows from the Entlebuch region. In this highly traditional form of milk production, the cows graze on succulent mountain pastures and are fed on hay. The variety of grasses and herbs they eat lends the mountain hay milk its unmistakeable milky aroma. This new kind of chocolate is being gently produced solely with natural ingredients of the highest quality according to the company's own recipe.
Some 100 farmers work in the mountain pasture dairy farming business in Entlebuch. In this highly traditional form of milk production, the cows are fed on sun-dried hay and graze on lush mountain pastures that boast a variety of almost 1,000 different juicy grasses and herbs. The Entlebuch farmers very consciously avoid fermented fodder. This natural method of feeding the cows and the gentle further processing of the hay milk are reflected in its high quality and creamy taste.
